    So far I have no more energy than when I first started and has developed neuropathy which I have just found out from Web MD that this neuropathy is one of the side effects of this med! Saying that by stopping this it would take another 6 months to build up the benefit. There are other meds that can help with what you are experiencing, and if your doctor didn't address that then I would seek out a second opinion... Please don't stop your plaquenil until you are sure it is the right thing to do and in your best interest.

  4. Hi GeorgiaGirl, I have been taking plaquenil for about 4 years now. When I was first prescribed it I was scared to death to take it as well. I read about all the eye problems and I was worried I would go blind. After things got so bad with me I started taking it and I went thru what I know now to be a really bad herx.

He said that its such a wonderful drug, that he doesn't want to give up yet. He said that sometimes people can't break the drug down and it builds up.
